Greetings, my name is
Ashley Klein.
I code neat things for web and mobile.
Based in Minneapolis.
Say HelloAbout Me
Hey there! I'm Ashley, a full-stack software engineer based in Minneapolis, MN.
I'm logically minded and creative at heart. I love to solve problems by designing and coding beautifully simple things. I thrive in a fast-paced environment and am passionately in the pursuit of knowledge and optimization.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, I worked as a mechanical engineer in nuclear pharmaceuticals. I enjoyed troubleshooting our project's software so much that I attended Prime Academy to transition to software development. I got my start in software working on the mobile application for Pikup.
For the full story, check out my resume. For a sneak peek, here are a few technologies I've been working with recently:
- JavaScript
- TypeScript
- React
- React-Native

Where I've Worked
Pikup (formerly Runerra) — Engineering Lead
February 2019 - Present // Minneapolis, MN
- Worked on a mobile application and server that connected users with neighbors running errands.
- Scoped and executed features on front-end and back-end including menus, deep-linking, and community structure.
- Piloted app design standardization, with a focus on accessibility.
- Managed iOS, android, and server deployments while maintaining test suites, incorporating a manual CI and CD pipeline, and conducting package upgrades.
- Technologies used: React Native, React.js, Redux, RxJS, TypeScript, GraphQL, Stripe, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.
Things I've Worked On
ChillCal is an anti-calendar application that focuses on free time rather than busy time. A connection-based app, users enter in times where they are available and their friends may request to “chill” during those times. Complete with a wintry, penguin theme, ChillCal is a clean, easy-to-follow web-based mobile application. Note: the chillcal-api project contains the server code.

This application for Marnita's Table displays the reports (360s) generated from Intentional Social Interactions (IZI). It allows visitors and clients to search through and view the 360s. The application also features a managing suite that allows Employees and Admins to create, edit, and publish 360s and control user viewing permissions.
